GAIA ONLINE GOLD

Log on to GAIAONLINE.COM and play games (slots and jigsaw, among them), chat with other 13- to 18-year-old users, collect downloadable wallpaper for cell phones, and buy virtual items in virtual stores with gaia gold currency, which is earned with every session spent on the site.

Like most virtual worlds, the first stop after your free sign-up is creating your avatar. Via the anime-style character -- whose hairstyles and clothing you can customize -- kids can chat in different rooms filled with threads upon threads of conversations. This is where there's reason for concern. Though the site appears to be kid-friendly, and advertises the use of a word filter and moderators trolling the boards for inappropriate images, racist and sexist language, and adult content, gaia online gold, it's rampant with such fare.

For example, on a recent visit, the following threads appeared: "Your best WTF moment was…?" "What are your fauve pick-up lines?" "Masturbation Myths and Fads" and "Poll: I wanna have sex with a boy." Perhaps the moderators were asleep at the wheel or their safety claim is just that -- a claim.

Either way, it'd be good to sit down with the kids as they surf the site or just steer them away. There are plenty of others with cleaner content and just as robust audiences.

EverQuest Memories

We asked EverQuest2 players to share some of their memories of EverQuest2 over the years. Here are the highlights:

In beta 1998, when the gate spell was first put in, it didn't work. It teleported you, but it teleported you to a random zone and spot in that zone regardless of your bind point. The invisibility spell would make you invisible to yourself but everyone else and all creatures would see you.” ~ Community Manager Zatozia

Back in my day, we would bank all our gear before jumping on the boat in Qeynos or Freeport because if the boat dropped you in the water when it zoned and you drowned or were eaten by sharks, it was easier to not have to find that corpse and just kill more mobs for xp than it was to find the corpse one reason to hate boats. The boat in Qeynos once went on a rampage when it was taunted and killed everyone in the zone another reason to hate boats. Back in my day, they tried out a spell "fly" for a while but it was horribly broken and quickly removed, I believe it turned into levitate later on.” ~ Community Member Tharkis

Back in my day, we had to drop a rusty weapon on the ground to see which way North was. The pointy end always points north.” ~ Community Member WarSheol_EM

I remember having to do the Sebilis key twice, you had to leave 1 key on a corpse outside at the orb so you could get back in if razz was unavailable (this was before soul bound keys). I also remember Lower Guk being the hotspot and just about every level 50 was there (pre-Kunark). Also, I remember when the Minotaur Hero was the most feared mob in-game. And last but not least, when duel messages were server wide” ~ Community Member --Joseffe

Seeing a skeleton carrying a cracked staff and thinking 'jackpot'. 'Bankers' in South Karana i.e. people willing to exchange your eq2 gold/silver/copper for everquest 2 plat. When hitting combine would destroy everything in the container if it wasn't a valid recipe (bad for people who used sewing kits as bags) ~ Community Member name_00

Back in my day there was no POK or Teleport stones/books and no translocations/magus to transport you across continents. In most cases you had to use the boats and wait for them to come in. Druid and Wizzy ports existed, but you had to find one who was willing to port you... sometimes this was difficult if they were all busy and no one was offering a service via /ooc or /auction. Even then, once you land you sometimes still had to trek a few zones to get to your final destination... max level was 50 at one point and at that level, some treks were particularly hazardous.” ~ Community Member Gavini_BP_Namless

The trek through Highhold Pass was super perilous! It took literally hours to travel from Qeynos to Freeport (or vice-versa) and groups would band together (primitive raids) to make these journey's.” ~ Community Member Phinagle

I remember running through WK and EK and getting smacked down by Cyclops and Griffins. I remember when Kithicor was NOT dangerous at night, when Rubicite Armor and manastones were the "must have" items, eq2 plat, when GFay was the auction zone on SolRo and was called eFay. Oh, and the orc highway, good times.” ~ Community Member Severine

Barbarian males didn't have a shield graphic. Not only were casters required to sit and stare at a book for 35 levels, we had to press the "Meditate" button as well.” ~ Community Member Zixx_Nenix

I remember when the 'world' that we saw was a small square in the middle of your computer screen and all the menus, chat screen, etc. were a thick border around that small square. This also meant that what is now a 'white con' mob was a 'black con' mob because the chat screen didn't have white text, you wouldn't have seen it well.” ~ Community Member Coup

Free Final Fantasy XI Guide: Excellent gil farming strategy (part 2)

Fire Elementals

You probably already know that Fire Crystal stacks sell for a lot of ffxi gil. At the time of writing this guide, a stack of fire crystals sells in Jeuno for 5,000 Gil. That is because finding them is quite hard and many different crafts need them. Fire Elementals, in particular, are rare.

There is not a good place to farm these as the fire weather condition is very rare. I have seen the fire weather condition in a few locations and I would say the best place for it is probably either the desert or dunes. Other locations I have seen this weather condition include Yuhtunga Jungle, Meriphataud Mountains and Ifrit’s Cauldron.

I honestly would not try to farm these as a constant source of income, but if you see one kill it on sight. I would suggest farming fire crystals from other monsters such as Lizard or Goblin types, rather than Elementals to make Gil from this crystal type.

Light Elementals

This is another type of Elemental which is hard to track down in easily accessible areas. Even enemies which drop light crystals on death are extremely rare, so that means they sell for quite a bit of final fantasy xi gil.

The only two places I can really recommend to hunt these, if you are around LV30/40, are in Qufim Island and Delkfutt’s tower.

I think that Delkfutt’s tower is probably the better place of the two to have all the spawns un-camped, as it is often void of players (especially the middle level). The tower also doubles up as a great place for Thunder Elementals.

Thunder Elementals

This type is used across the board for de-synthing things in most crafts, so everyone will want some at some point or another. At the start of the game you can get these from some Goblin types, but from around Lv20 you can safely farm them.

You can try hunting this Elemental type in the follow locations (go to the best befitting your level) Konschtat Highlands, Delkfutt’s Tower (all floors – especially the middle), Pashhow Marshlands and Sauromugue Champaign.

Dark Elementals

Here is an interesting tip on a way to make final fantasy xi gil. I won’t lie, you need to be high level to do this way and have a job decent enough at soloing Elementals of a high level quickly and efficiently, but I know someone who made two million final fantasy xi gil in two weeks by doing this.

Before I start, I should point out that if you want a slightly lower level place to hunt for this Elemental type then try Beaucidiine Glacier. Surprisingly, Dark weather is very common there, along with Ice. Alternatively, mushroom type monsters drop dark crystals.

If you are Lv70+ then head on over to Castle Zvahl Baile’s to farm these. It is Dark weather type there a lot and once you learn the spawn locations for the Elementals it can be a very lucrative way to make Gil, as Dark Clusters are currently worth 5,000 final fantasy gil each.

Ice Elementals

I am not sure that there is much of a market for this type of element, but if you want to farm them for your craft then try going to Beaucidiine Glacier as it is chocked full of them. You will need to be quite high level to go there and farm them safely, but that is the best place to farm them near enough constantly and without competition from other players.

Water Elementals

This type is another which is not worth that much, really. It is used in some crafts but has never really gone up in value in all the time I have been playing the game. If you do (for whatever reason) want to completely minimize crafting costs then you can start hunting these are reasonably low levels as they pop in areas just beyond the starting zones.

Sell Heritage Items for More Money (EQ2 Bard)

Don’t know if this is a repost but I discovered that shiny brass halberd is usually sold for 20 everquest 2 gold but if you sell to a guy at Net docks u can get 28 everquest 2 gold!

Also dwarves work boots are usually sold for 3 eq2 gold and like 80 silver but u can sell to the merchant in your trade skill instance for 5 gold.

Another thing is that pretty much every item can be sold to the merchant in your trade skill instance for more then any other merchant outside, for example:

I used scrying stone on the little rainbows on the ground and got 50 ancient silver coins. Usually they sell for about 6 silver and like 30 copper each, but I went to merchant in the trade skill instance and sold each for 8 silver and like 33 copper.

Not to bad of a find and I think it’s worth the extra money. HAVE FUN and HOPE THIS HELPS!

Sony reacts quickly to game hack

According to Chris Kramer, director of public relations for EQ2 publisher Sony Online Entertainment, the players had on Saturday begun using their so-called "duping bug" to make large quantities of everquest 2 platinum, the game's currency. (A duping bug is a hack that exploits a weakness in online games' code to duplicate existing items to effectively create counterfeit currency or other goods.)

The players then began trying to sell the ill-gotten everquest 2 platinum on Station Exchange, the official auction exchange for EQ2 weapons, armour, currency and other virtual goods. "The amount of money in the game increased by a fifth in about 24 hours," Kramer said. "We have a lot of alarms for this kind of thing, and they all went off on Saturday."

The economy of the MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) was quickly brought back to its pre-attack state, Kramer added.

SOE launched Station Exchange last month. The auction system allows EQ2 players who wish to buy or sell the game's virtual goods for US dollars to do so in a system overseen by the company.

But many players of online games such as EQ2 are opposed to such trafficking, mainly since it gives people with money to spend an advantage over those who put in the time advancing their characters manually. So SOE has segmented EQ2 into discrete servers, some of which allow the trading and some which don't. Players from the two kinds of servers cannot play against each other.

In any case, Kramer said, after discovering the duping bug on a Station Exchange-enabled server, the company's customer service team quickly shut down the auctions to stop the sale of the artificially created eq2 platinum. Once the team identified the hackers, it immediately shut down their accounts. Sony does not disclose the names of its players.

Kramer also said that SOE has tools that allowed it to track all the duped eq2 platinum and remove it. Thus, he said, while the EQ2 economy had taken a huge inflationary hit on Saturday, the company's customer service team put in a lot of overtime over the weekend and the problem was largely resolved by Sunday.

To be sure, duping is not unique to online games or even to EQ2. In fact, a story currently making the rounds of game-related Web sites alleges that several people were able to make more than $70,000 selling illegally duped EQ2 currency.

Still, Kramer said, this was the first time Station Exchange-enabled servers had been hit.

"It was a good test of how our alerts worked," he said, "and how fast we can react to something like that."

EVE, ISK, and RMT

If you read much of the gaming press, blogshpere, and official gaming company news, you would certainly come away with the impression that most of the gaming community is opposed to selling in-game currency for cash.

It is cheating. It wrecks the in-game economy. It is a violation of the rules.

The fly in the ointment is all of those sites dedicated to selling in-game currency. All of those gold ads has seems to argue that some significant percentage of the player population disagrees.

But make no mistake, the gaming companies are against it. The end user license agreements for MMOs almost universally, specifically, forbid it.

Blizzard regularly announces how many accounts they have banned for being involved with real money transactions for in-game currency.

Try listing some in-game currency for a Sony Online Entertainment game on eBay and see how long your auction stays up.

CCP has come out strongly in the past against the evils of selling their in-game currency, the eve isk, for real world money. In the EVE Online End User License Agreement, under Section 7 (Conduct) you will find paragraph B that specifically forbids the sale of any in-game items, currency included.

Except, of course, if you buy it from them.

To be fair, CCP isn’t actually selling isk directly. You cannot go to their site and order up 100 million eve isk any time you please.

They will, however, direct you to somebody who will sell you a Game Time Code, or GTC. (Also refers to an EVE Time Card or ETC.) Or they will sell you one directly if you want.

A GTC is basically a time card like those offered by other online game companies that, when entered into your account, allows you to play for a given amount of time, usually 30, 50, 90, or 100 days depending on the source of the card.

And once you have purchased your GTC, CCP provides a forum and a secure method for selling your GTC to other players for the in game currency.

There is then a company sponsored and supported process in which at one end you put in real world money and at the other end you receive isk.

So CCP is selling eve online isk.

Yes, it isn’t that black and white. You have to find a buyer, negotiate a price, and so on.  And CCP should certainly take umbrage at any suggestion that they are doing this to legitimize the sale of eve online isk. I am sure that is not the case at all.

But it certainly does open the door. There is a legitimate way to turn real world money into isk, and I would be surprised if some isk farming company out hasn’t tried selling GTCs at a mildly inflated price with the guarantee that you can turn around and sell it for an over market price, in eve online isk, to one of their mule accounts. They keep the account going, make their money, and nobody can say they did not follow the rules. At least one seller on the official CCP list has a history in gold selling and RMT.

Of course, this leads to the big question, the universal question, which is, “So what?”

In the case of EVE Online, the question is quite legitimate. EVE is the wild west of MMOs, where the list of things you cannot do is relatively short. Those are search of “user created content” need only look at the maps of 0.0 space in EVE Online to find an example. (You can see such a map at EVE Tribune.) There is a huge, ongoing saga out there, not one bit of which is scripted or driven by anything requiring you to, say, “Kill Ten Rats.”

In this environment, the idea that there ought to be free reign to turn your eve online isk into game time seems pretty natural. It fits. It rewards success in a way that feeds the game.

In the case of the MMO gaming industry in general though, it may have implications.

It has often been said that the gaming companies could put the gold sellers out of business by just selling the currency themselves. Keep the current pressure on the gold sellers at one end, while at the other end offer a legitimate way to buy the in-game currency, and gold sellers would wither. They wouldn’t cease to exist, but a lot of them would get out of the business.

The game companies would, of course, like to be collecting that money themselves.  There are two things that stand between the gaming companies and the pile of cash represented by this.

The first is the whole “cheating” or “buying your way to success” stigma. There are a few game companies for which this is a roadblock. Probably not many as you would think.  Certainly none of the companies owned by large media conglomerates would be phased by this.

The second is the IRS. Or Inland Revenue. Or whatever the taxing branch of your national government is called. Once a gaming company assigns a value, an exchange rate if you will, for the in-game currency, the tax implications begin to crop up. Does that mean that the currency has real value? Does that mean I owe the government a cut whenever I turn in a quest?

SOE got around that with their Station Exchange server by letting the players buy and sell and just taking a cut, ala eBay. Currency can be bought and sold, but there is no official valuation.

CCP gets around the tax issue by taking another virtual currency (GTCs) that is tightly controlled, and making that the unit of exchange for the in-game currency. CCP just sells GTCs and does not take any cut of any further transaction. The end user then trades one for the other without any further real money being exchanged.

So is CCP on to something with this? Is this crossing the “gold selling” line? Does any other game allow something similar?

I find this more interesting than alarming myself.

How to buy silk road gold

Silk Road Online gold is available on all servers now. Farming silkroad gold is not easy the easier way to get it is to buy from trustworthy Silk Road gold sellers.

For those who are inexperienced with purchasing silkroad gold, Silk Road power leveilng and Silk Road accounts from the sellers, there are many Silk Road gold sellers that are frauds and scams that cannot be removed from the internet. Firstly, reviews of them and hearing out what other customers have to say can be very helpful. Secondly, be sure to know their policy, whether they offer any type of refunds, guarantees and where their silk road gold is obtained and etc. If it is duped, you may be at risk of losing it or even getting your account banned. The refund policy also has an important role to judge the honesty of Silk Road gold seller.

Gaia Online Gold

At the center of almost every action you take on Gaia, you either spend or make a bit of gaia online gold. Some actions, such as posting in the forums, voting in polls, or judging avatars in the arenas, only award you with a few pieces of gold at a time. Other actions may award you with hundreds, thousands, or even millions of gold.

Thsale.com has spent years learning Gaia Online’s economy like the back of their hands. They know how to spot deals on the Marketplace and inside the Exchange and they know how to make gold quickly and legitimately.

The major difference between gold that Thsale.com sells and the gold that other virtual gold sites sell is the way they earn their gold. Most other virtual gold sites hire farmers and botters to harvest gold - buying gold has a much higher chance of getting you banned. Thsale.com earns their gold manually by buying and selling items for profit.

Their gold is a little bit more expensive than other virtual gold sites but you are paying for quality and you have a far less chance of being banned by buying it. So before you go buying gaiaonline gold from another virtual gold site, check out Thsale.com. A few months from now you’ll be happy you did - you’ll still be enjoying the gold you bought from them instead of being banned by buying botted gold from the other sites.

Free Final Fantasy XI Guide: Excellent gil farming strategy (part 1)

If you have tried farming in a few of these areas you will notice that I paid special notice to the fact that monsters called Elementals are good targets. They spawn in certain zones around the world during a matching weather condition. So, for example, Air Elementals would appear in certain locations around a zone which currently was experiencing the Wind weather effect (indicated on your screen by a green hurricane). Killing these Elementals will make them drop at least one cluster of their element (they will sometimes drop more). The most that I have seen drop from one kill solo is three clusters. These clusters can be sold at an Auction House as a single item (so less tax is charged) and when used, breaks open into a stack of 12 crystals of the matching element.

The highest value clusters are fire, light, dark, thunder and wind. The price comparison between a 12 crystal stack and a cluster of a certain element can dance around, so check both to see which will get you the most money (take tax into consideration!). Then, you can either sell the cluster or use it yourself and then sell the 12 stack.

There are two reasons to hunt Elementals to feed a crystal hungry market, or to lower your net cost when crafting. Finding good locations, which commonly have the most expensive cluster dropping Elementals, is key to making the most money, final fantasy gil from this endeavor. I will list the locations I have found which are particularly common for specific weather conditions and have numerous points on which an Elemental can spawn. Remember that weather conditions can last for a long time in some zones. If it lasts longer than 12 minutes after you killed an Elemental another will spawn in the same location.

If you want to plan an Elemental hunt, consult the NPC’s around the three Kingdoms and Jueno which inform you of the weather changes in zones over the next three game days. This is particularly helpful for those hard to find weather conditions.

Warning: Elementals are very strong for their levels. After about Lv50 it would become extremely hard to kill an Elemental that is Easy Pray to you. Near End Game it would be next to impossible for most classes especially when they start trying to cast things like Thundaga2 on you. To safely farm these, make sure you are high above the level cap of the area I have suggest to camp them in. Mage’s are best are killing Elementals, as the monsters are resistant to physical damage.

Air Elementals

This Elemental type monster is surprisingly common. Despite that, wind clusters and stacks sell fast and for reasonable amounts of final fantasy xi gil. The best place I have found for hunting these is the lower level of the Maze of Shakhrami, near where Ichorous Ire spawns.

To hunt this area you would need to be over Lv40 at the very least, probably higher. In the large room outside the chamber where Ire spawns two wind Elementals spawn every time the zone has the Wind weather condition. Not only that, but almost 100% of the time a second set of Elementals spawn before the weather condition ends (provided you can kill the first set fast enough). So you will earn at least four wind clusters every time the wind weather is active. Keep in mind that quite often more than one cluster will drop per kill though. After only two spawns of Elementals I obtained seven clusters on one occasion and sold each for about 3,000 final fantasy xi gil in Windurst.

Alternative areas to try and hunt this type of Elemental include: La Theine Plateau, Buburimu Peninsula and Tahrongi Canyon where they will be much lower level and easier to kill than inside the Maze of Shakhrami, so I suggest those locations for lower level players.

As I hinted at above, the best place to sell Wind Clusters and stacks is Windurst. This is because it is where the Bonecraft Guild is and they require huge amounts of this element of crystal. You will find your clusters and stacks sell extremely fast here. Alternatively, they do sell reasonably well elsewhere, but try to avoid Jeuno, especially if it is a stack of 12 rather than a cluster, as the tax is horrible.
